Foundation Course in Cognitive Psychotherapy

This one year course is mainly aimed at mental health professionals or equivalent, with an interest in CBT

The course will consist of 3 terms. It is expected to run from September to May and will comprise 2, 3-day blocks in September and April and 15 fortnightly teaching days on Thursdays.

Foundation Course - a post qualification training in Cognitive Psychotherapy. Apply by June 1st by sending in Foundation Course Application Form and a cheque for €3,500.

PG Diploma Course in Cognitive Psychotherapy

This one year course develops a student’s understanding of Cognitive Psychotherapy applied to common mental health problems

M.Sc Course

  • Two-year course
  • Term 1 (Sep – Dec) – teaching on Thursdays and Fridays
  • Terms 2-4 (Jan – Dec) – Clinical Placement including supervision (1-2 days per week) plus one day release for teaching (on Thursdays)
  • Terms 5 & 6 (Jan – June) – Completion of Research Dissertation. Further case work in own place of work with peer supervision & Course Assessment
  • Self Practice/ Self Reflection throughout 2 years
  • Research Skills Training and Support over 2 years
  • Year 1 cost approx €12,000
  • Year 2 cost – dependent on number of students (no more than Year 1)
  • If course runs this year, applications will be online in same format as Diploma course and will be due in June, date to be confirmed.
  • Students must already have a PG Diploma in Cognitive Psychotherapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Must be working in a healthcare setting.
  • Deadline for applications will be June 1st
