Welcome to the Discipline of Occupational Therapy
Dr Deirdre Connolly, Head of the Discipline of Occupational Therapy
The Discipline of Occupational Therapy has been in existence for over 30 years and offered one of the first degree courses in Occupational Therapy in Europe. The Discipline offers an honours degree (4 years B.Sc.(hons) degree) undergraduate program, a taught masters program (2 years part time) as well as research degrees to PhD level. The discipline is located in the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, a new purpose built facility for the Health Science faculty on the grounds of St James's Hospital. Teaching takes place in the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences and on the main Trinity College campus at College Green. The World Federation of Occupational Therapists validates the undergraduate course. A philosophy of self-directed learning and reflection on practice underlies the undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The Discipline is a member of ENOTHE, the European Network of Occupational Therapy in Higher Education.
