Welcome to the Discipline of Occupational Therapy
Dr Tadhg Stapleton Head of the Discipline of Occupational Therapy
The Discipline of Occupational Therapy at Trinity College has been in existence for over 30 years. Trinity College provided one of the first degree courses in Occupational Therapy in Europe.
The Discipline offers a four-year BSc. (Honours) degree in Occupational Therapy, a two-year part-time taught Masters in Occupational Therapy (MSc.OT), and research degrees to Masters (MSc.) and Doctorate (PhD) level.
The Discipline is located in the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences on the grounds of St. James's Hospital, a purpose built facility for the Health Sciences. Teaching takes place in the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences and on the main Trinity College campus at College Green. The Occupational Therapists Registration Board (CORU) and the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI) validate the undergraduate course.
A philosophy of self-directed learning and reflection on practice underlies the undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes. The Discipline is a member of ENOTHE, the European Network of Occupational Therapy in Higher Education.
