Welcome to the Department of Clinical Microbiology
The Department of Clinical Microbiology is located in the Sir Patrick Dun Labs, Central Pathology Laboratory, St. James's Hospital and the Trinity Centre, AMNCH Tallaght Hospital.

Lectures take place on site in the Trinity Centres in St. James's Hospital and Tallaght Hospital campuses and on the main Trinity College campus.
Together with the Department of Immunology, Department of Histopathology and Morbid Anatomy and the Department of Haematology it forms the Division of Laboratory Medicine. We are part of the School of Medicine.
An extensive programme of teaching is in place to Undergraduate and Post-Graduate Medical, Science, Pharmacy and Nursing students. The laboratory is recognised for training for the M.R.C.Path and in Molecular Pathology which is co-ordinated by the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Research leading to the M.D., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree is undertaken in the Department.
The Department has an extensive research programme.
