The John S Prichard Award
This prize was founded in 2003 in memory of Professor John Prichard, Associate Professor of Medicine 1978 – 1996, by the Department of Clinical Medicine. It is awarded annually to the best Clinical Tutor from St James’s Hospital, as voted by the final year medical students. The winner is awarded a medal and an honorarium. This award is sponsored by Servier Laboratories Ireland Ltd.
Dr Gareth Horgan was presented with the JS Prichard Award having been voted best Clinical Tutor 2010-2011 by the final med students (2010-2011) at SJH.
This year the award was presented by Dr Martina Hennessy (Director of Undergraduate Teaching and Learning, School of Medicine)

Dr Deirdre McNamara The Department is divided between the two main teaching hospital sites: St James's Hospital and the Adelaide and Meath Hospital incorporating the National Children's Hospital at Tallaght and its affiliated teaching hospitals of Naas General Hospital and Our Lady's Hospice.
The Department of Clinical Medicine incoporates Molecular Medicine, Nutrition and Dietition and Medical Physics. The Department delivers both undergraduate and postgraduate education and has a strong research platform in key areas of the College's strategic plan including, cancer, infection and immunity and neurosciences. The Department contains both Institute of Molecular Medicine and Institute of Preventative Medicine
