MMI Clinical and Translational Research Scholars Programme

The MMI Clinical and Translational Research Scholars Programme (CTRSP) was launched on Monday 10 October in Newman House, 86 St Stephen’s Green Dublin 2. This 4 year PhD programme was developed by MMI and its academic partners, NUI Galway, Trinity College, UCC and UCD with NUI Galway as lead under Professor Larry Egan. There was also considerable input by industry and the Irish Medicines Board. The aim of the CTRSP is to produce 20 graduates a year who have the skills to translate patient and disease-focused research into clinically effective and commercially viable applications. These are the kinds of skills required to develop and promote Ireland’s knowledge economy.

Minister Sean Sherlock TD, Minister of State with special responsibility for Research and Innovation, launched this unique PhD programme.
